Competitive problem solving exercises are great teambuilders both youth and adult groups. Challenge small teams will compete to construct an egg delivery mechanism that will allow them to safely drop an uncooked egg from a height without cracking the egg.

Time: 1 – 2 hours
Number of Participants: Two or more small groups

Equipment: Uncooked eggs, and assorted office supplies such as pencils, tape, plastic utensils, bubble wrap, paper, rubber bands, straws, etc..

Rules: Split the group into teams of three to five people, each with an uncooked egg and an assortment of office supplies. Teams have 20 to 40 minutes to build a contraption that will prevent the egg from breaking when dropped from a height. When the time to construct is over, bring the teams together and drop each egg delivery system from the second floor of your building. Which egg will survive intact?

Outcomes: This classic teambuilding activity is highly engaging, requiring effective planning, problem solving and collaboration in order to safely deliver the egg. The activity can be run with large groups and small groups, and there are many creative ways to successfully complete the objective.
